Student Agreement
Version 0.2, last published 19 August 2026.
By registering as a student with Delta Tutoring, you agree to the following terms governing your use of tutoring services.
1. Services
Delta Tutoring connects you with subject-matched tutors for one-on-one and/or group academic tutoring at the University of Pretoria (Mathematics & Statistics), delivered online or in person as agreed between you and your tutor. Session frequency and scheduling are agreed directly with your tutor and may be adjusted from time to time by mutual consent.
2. Term and Termination
This Agreement takes effect when you register and continues on an ongoing, session-by-session basis until terminated. You or Delta Tutoring may terminate at any time by providing at least 24 hours’ written notice. You remain responsible for payment for all sessions completed, and any properly-noticed but cancelled sessions, up to the effective date of termination. Either party may terminate immediately for a material breach, non-payment, or conduct endangering the safety or well-being of a student or tutor.
3. Fees and Payment
Pay-as-you-Go sessions: R200/hour, billed per session, of which R120/hour goes to your tutor. Premium packages: five module-count-based tiers (Starter, Standard, Committed, Full Month, Custom) — package pricing will be confirmed with you before you’re billed for a Premium package. Payments are made via EFT to Delta Tutoring’s registered bank account, using your unique payment reference for each booking. Payments outstanding more than 10 days after the due date may result in suspension of tutoring services until the account is brought current.
4. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Cancellations, postponements, and no-shows are governed by Delta Tutoring’s Cancellation Policy (linked at booking) and Refund Policy (linked at payment).
5. Materials and Preparation
Responsibility for providing books, worksheets, or other learning materials is agreed between you and your tutor. Your tutor may recommend supplemental materials, the cost of which (if any) is borne by you unless otherwise agreed.
6. Conduct and Professionalism
You agree to communicate respectfully and to promptly raise any concerns about conduct, progress, or scheduling through the designated communication channel, rather than resolving disputes informally outside the platform.
7. Confidentiality and Protection of Personal Information
Personal, academic, or family information shared in the course of tutoring is kept confidential and used solely to provide tutoring services, in accordance with POPIA and Delta Tutoring’s Privacy Policy.
8. Limitation of Liability
You will receive services in good faith and with reasonable skill and care, but Delta Tutoring makes no guarantee of specific academic outcomes, grades, or test scores. Except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct, liability under this Agreement is limited to the fees you paid in the three (3) months preceding a claim. Nothing in this clause limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, to the extent it applies.
9. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, with disputes subject to the jurisdiction of the Magistrate’s Court, without prejudice to either party’s right to approach the High Court of South Africa.
10. Changes to this Agreement
Delta Tutoring may update this Agreement from time to time. Where a material change is made, you’ll be asked to re-confirm your acceptance.
